...and it's somewhat embarrassing.
Let me backtrack just a little. A few weeks ago, I got a mass email from someone asking me to pray for so-and-so, who has cancer. I have nothing against praying, I believe in all paths to God, and whatever path of divinity you follow is fine with me (clarification - as long as you aren't hurting or killing anyone else in the process). Well, that's nice of you to ask for prayers, but if I were to pray for you and so-and-so, I would pray not for blind healing. I would pray that you be granted wisdom and knowledge, that you be granted the passion to research and learn. Because really, there is only one source of healing in the body, and that is the body itself. Mindset is a huge component, I will admit this readily, and meditation has shown extremely strong in aiding healing. However, you are the only person who can cure yourself of anything. The key is to give the body the right tools, the right building blocks to aid this process, and the right catalysts to get the body back on track. You are what you eat, and I don't know why more people don't understand that as deeply as they should, but then again, when you don't think too deeply about it, and when you find twinkies delicious, well, there stops the thought process. Do we really think that the smoker eating fries has the same base for health as the hiker eating an apple (including the seeds)? We really don't. We have brains and we use them.
Where was I?
Oh, the Dark Ages.
This is how it relates. We have the tools to have knowledge and wisdom, and even proper application. We have the science. But what we also have is marketing and drugs and food that the body can't use. It's such a shame that medicine is money driven. Health doesn't make money for drug companies, or food mass-producers, or the FDA, or anyone else. No, HEALTH is the WEALTH of the person who has it, which could, potentially, be nearly everyone. Back in the day, we cried out to be taught to read. And after a while, we were offered the opportunity; we were even given libraries, then we were given the internet for the free dissemination of knowledge. We shouldn't be in the dark ages, not when the human body of information is doubling so fast, and we have access to all of it!
How do we get out of the Dark Ages?
I think we are on our way, very very slowly, and each tentative step has the potential to get us kicked back farther away than where we started. Most people already have lost faith in the conventional system, even if they themselves haven't suffered a major health setback. Most people have tried at least one alternative therapy...and just taking vitamin C counts, but that's not what I'm talking about.
Dear people in charge of the conventional system:
We don't like what you're doing. We would like the studies of alternative therapies to be more easily accessible, we would like the tools that we want to use for our health to be respected, and ultimately, we want our choices for our heath to remain uninfringed. We have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Health makes us happy, health on OUR terms is our right as well. Stop putting chemicals in our food and water, stop dictating that drugs are the only answer, admit that better therapies come from whole, raw foods, vitamins, enzymes, and minerals.
We're in the Dark Ages of health. If anyone is reading this, please, do your own research. Google is your friend. Look for reputable sources, cross reference, and read the scientific studies. If you have to, move to another country. Use your brain, be analytical, and make your own decisions.
As always, I wish you health and knowledge, and if you can manage it, eternal life. :)

Goals
Hello new friends, and welcome to my blog. My name is Phoenix, and this post is to set out my goals for what this blog is to be and tell you a bit about myself.
I'm not the most organized of people, and I do a lot of research, so I figured it would be a good idea to set some of my ideas down and publish them on the web, and copy and paste articles and links that I've either read and want to be able to reference, or intend to read that hold the promise of good information. The information I am mostly looking for is about natural health and living, ecological and individual sustainability, physical immortality, spiritual and religious history and comparison, extraterrestrial life, advanced sciences of all sorts, and mysticism. Occasionally, I'll throw in things about video games, books, cats, and various DIY projects because I'm into these things too, but they are definitely not the focus, and I really only want to have one blog. A little more about me, I'm currently employed with a school where I am finishing my graphic design degree (which is frustrating not only because it's taking forever, but because I'm an artist and graphic design isn't something I actually want to get into as a career) and once I have that, I already have my schools picked out for pre-med and a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. Once I have that, I would like to have my own practice and my own research lab where I could focus on genetics, cancer, and biochemical effects of botanical extracts and naturally derived compounds to counteract the aging process; I would like to remain attached to a school for this purpose.
I do not believe that physical death is inevitable, I believe that people accept that they will die after a time and they do, and they don't want to live extended lives, which is actually good, because I also believe that we are facing a massive overpopulation problem. I feel that the people who do want to live longer lives are able to, since they are generally the kinds of people who contribute in more meaningful ways and have more vast stores of information and creativity to share, it is a great shame if they pass away when they still have so much that they could otherwise accomplish for themselves and for humanity.
Currently, I'm on a gluten and processed food free anti-inflammatory diet (which is making me feel fantastic) and I'm intrigued by the Hulda Clark style zappers, Chiu magnetic rings, and the Beck style blood purifier. My current favorite websites are curezone, earthclinic, and imminst. I'm researching telomeres and telomerase activators, parasites and toxins, and the plausibility of a 2012 pole shift/rise in consciousness/major event of any sort, because I strongly believe that it's just the passing of a cycle, just like new years, just for an era. I wholehartedly welcome all comments and other researchers, and I encourage you to post research you've found or done yourself, or links to things you thing I or other readers would benefit from reading.
If you don't have anything productive or encouraging to say, well, like and old Chinese proverb says, don't say it can't be done to the people who are doing it.
